About the Techne–Phronesis Negotiation Framework™ (TPNF)

From Ancient Greek Wisdom to the Future of Technology and Strategic Decision-Making

The Techne–Phronesis Negotiation Framework™ (TPNF) is an interdisciplinary research and educational framework developed by Nikolaos Chatzis, integrating Ancient Greek strategic thought with contemporary technology, systems thinking, negotiation, and strategic decision-making.

TPNF explores a fundamental question:

How can technological capabilities be transformed into sustainable strategic value through systemic understanding and practical wisdom?

The framework rests on three interconnected pillars:

  • Techne (Capability): The knowledge, skills, and technological resources required to act effectively.
  • Systems Thinking (Understanding): The ability to recognize interdependencies, complexity, feedback, and the broader consequences of decisions.
  • Phronesis (Strategic Wisdom): The practical judgment necessary to make responsible decisions under uncertainty and create lasting value.

Research and Educational Mission

TPNF seeks to bridge the gap between technological innovation and strategic understanding.

Its research explores geopolitics, international relations, aerospace technologies, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, robotics, innovation ecosystems, and the evolution of strategic thought.

Through TPNF Research Essays™, Strategic Decision Laboratories™ (SDLs), and the TPNF Strategic Lexicon™, the framework aims to encourage critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning, and evidence-informed strategic decision-making.

Our Educational Philosophy

Technology creates capabilities. Systems thinking develops understanding. Phronesis guides their responsible application.

TPNF is designed to help students, researchers, educators, and professionals move beyond understanding how technologies operate toward understanding why, when, and how they should be employed to create long-term strategic value.
