O Διεθνής Οργανισμός Πολιτικής Αεροπορίας (ICAO) υιοθέτησε τους νέους και τροποποιημένους κανόνες και τις συνιστώμενες πρακτικές (SARPs), προκειμένου να υπάρξει καθοδήγηση στη διαδικασία της ασφάλειας συστημάτων αεροσκαφών που πλοηγούνται από απόσταση (RPAS). Στόχος οι ασφαλείς επανδρωμένες και μη επανδρωμένες πτήσεις στον ενοηποιημένο εναέριο χώρο (U-space).
