Ένα βρετανικό UAV στρατιωτικής χρήσης χτύπησε στο έδαφος, κατά τη διάρκεια δοκιμαστικής πτήσης στην Κύπρο. Το Watchkeeper WK450 εκτιμάται ότι συνετρίβη στη διάρκεια μιας εκπαιδευτικής πτήσης τον Οκτώβριο, σύμφωνα με τα όσα αποκάλυψε ο Observer.

To αναφερόμενο UAV αποτελεί συμπαραγωγή μεταξύ της Thales Group και της Elbit Systems, επί τη βάσει του πρωτοτύπου Elbit 450 της ισραηλινής Elbit. Το αναφερόμενο UAV έχει μήκος 6,5 μέτρα (21 πόδια) άνοιγμα πτερύγων  10,9 μέτρα (35 πόδια) ενώ έχει μέση ταχύτητα πτήσης 143 χιλιόμετρα την ώρα (88 μίλια) και μέγιστο επιχειρησιακό ύψος πτήσης τα 16.000 πόδια…

[…A British military drone has, unfortunately, hit the ground during a recent test flight in the Middle Eastern country of Cyprus. The Watchkeeper WK450 drone is believed to have crashed during a training session back in October, which has just be made public by the Observer.
